Who are we?Pond’s End Productions is owned and operated by Carolyn Horlings , a formally trained film maker and self-taught photographer. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor’s English Literature and Communication, Media & Film program. She is assisted by her father, Erwin Daichendt, and by other talented local photographers. Originally based out of Windsor, she now lives in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and is available for hire all across Ontario and also for destination, out-of-province/country shoots.
Where did "Pond's End" come from?Carolyn’s maiden name, “Daichendt”, means “at the end of the pond” in German. Most people struggle with the spelling and pronunciation of Daichendt, so she altered the English translation to come up with "Pond’s End" to make it a little easier on her clients. She also believes that the name casts a vivid and peaceful mental image that reflects the beautiful nature of photos she shoots. She decided to start this business because she loves to capture and communicate the essence of her subjects.
Our approach?Anyone can grab a phone, tablet or camera and take a photo. We focus heavily on the aesthetic appeal of our work rather than the simple serial representation of an event. Whether the project is big or small, we seek to draw in and engage the viewer in order to communicate the essence of your event, product, business or special interest. We do it through careful collaboration with our clients and the use of high quality, professional tools and equipment.
